Think Green with Lake Elmo Inn
The Lake Elmo Inn prides itself on the ways it’s working to become a greener company. Currently the Event Center and Restaurant recycle 87% of our total waste including food waste, which goes to a local pig farmer. The restaurant is now working to increase that percentage by using food and food-soiled paper for composting. Whenever possible we are purchasing food from local vendors and are taking measures to recycle used cooking oil that is then reclaimed, renewed, and returned to the marketplace as a vital ingredient in lubricants and animal feed. A large percentage of our disposable containers are made from recycled products and when possible, we use energy efficient light bulbs. We are doing our part to make the world a little brighter.
